Why Can't We feel The Earth Spin

We can’t feel Earth rotating because we’re all moving with it, at the same constant speed. But how? Image via  NASA.gov . Earth spins on its axis once in every 24-hour day. At Earth’s equator, the speed of Earth’s spin is about 1,000 miles per hour (1,600 km per hour). The day-night has carried you around in a grand circle under the stars every day of your life, and yet you don’t feel Earth spinning. Why not? It’s because you and everything else – including Earth’s oceans and atmosphere – are spinning along with the Earth at the same constant speed. It’s only if Earth stopped spinning, suddenly, that we’d feel it. Then it would be a feeling similar to riding along in a fast car, and having someone slam on the brakes! Think about riding in a car or flying in a plane. As long as the ride is going smoothly, you can almost convince yourself you’re not moving. A jumbo jet flies at about 500 miles per hour (about 800 kph), or about half as fast as th...

How To Deal With Heartbreak.

Broken hearts suck. There’s no debating that. We open ourselves to someone and we give them the power to destroy us, trusting that they won’t. Then they do. And the world doesn’t stop. It doesn’t quit spinning for you to catch your breath. You have to deal with this shattered mess inside you, while everyone goes about their business, like nothing even happened. This pain, these heartbreaks, they shape us and change us. Everyone of them touches your life differently, but getting through them is all the same. It’s hard and it’s heart wrenching, but we do it, even when we don’t want to. There are ways we can make it easier on ourselves though. Don’t lie to yourself.  It’s one thing to tell your mom and the fifty two people who ask you how you’re doing since the break up that you’re fine. Don’t lie to yourself though. If you’re not okay, it’s okay. Don’t let anyone tell you to ‘get over it’ before you’re ready.  Take your time.  It’s your heart, and your heartbreak. Al...

Solskjaer blames one player for Man Utd’s 2-1 defeat to Wolves

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has criticized Ashley Young for going to ground to make a tackle, after being shown a yellow card by referee Mike Dean. Young was sent off during United’s 2-1 defeat at Wolves on Tuesday, with the scores level at 1-1. United took the lead through Scott McTominay, but the hosts fought back and levelled through Diogo Jota before the break. Chris Smalling then put the ball into his own goal. “You tell me, it’s one of those days where we’ve done more than enough to score at least three goals. “They’ve pounced upon our mistakes. I thought the lads played well today, we created a lot of chances. “We conceded goals from sloppy mistakes, a couple of bad decisions. “When you’re on a yellow you’re always taking a chance by going to ground,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports after the game. The Red Devils remain fifth on the table with 61 points.

EPL: Chelsea urged to sack Sarri following 2-1 win at Cardiff City

BT Sport pundit, Chris Sutton, has told Chelsea to sack manager Maurizio Sarri, for resting Eden Hazard against Cardiff City on Sunday. Hazard and N’Golo Kante were both named on the bench for their 2-1 win in Wales. Despite going behind shortly after half-time, the Blues earned all three points, after scoring two goals in the last six minutes of the match. But Sutton says the Chelsea board “must be running out of patience” with Sarri. “Maurizio Sarri got lucky in Cardiff. If it were not for the assistant referee, Chelsea would have been fortunate to escape with a point. “Sarri may get lucky again and win the Europa League. Even if he does – securing Champions League football in the process – this abject performance only highlights why he cannot be the man to lead Chelsea next season. “His decisions are becoming increasingly erratic. “There are no easy games at this stage of a Premier League season, especially against a Cardiff side battling against relegation, so why l...

Two university pals from the UK who wanted to do something inspirational and epic decided to spend three weeks in a Malaysian jungle, naked and without food, to “show that it can be done”. They quit 16 days into their adventure after one of them cut his hand with a machete. 26-year-old Daniel Olifi, a financial tech worker, and James Moynihan, a 27-year-old cruise ship entertainer, wanted to see if they could survive in a harsh jungle with only minimal supplies, no food and a couple of large leaves covering their private parts. Their plan was to spend three weeks camping in the Kuantan rainforest, in Malaysia, but the challenge quickly proved much harder than they had anticipated. Within hours of setting up camp, last October, they almost ran out of water and while they eventually overcame that problem, they still had to endure swarms of mosquitoes, hypothermia and severe hunger. They eventually had to call it quits after 16 days, after Daniel cut his hand with a...
