Working in Lagos is stressful in itself, from the torrid of traffic to having a difficult boss, then to the super-annoying commercial drivers (A.K.A, Danfo drivers or Marwa riders). If you live around Osodi, you will have the addition of Agbero boys to deal with.

There is just a lot around to stress you out even without you stressing. Hence, the need to learn how to manage stress from work. Here are 5 tips that will help you manage stress if applied.

1.     Take Time To Rest

Many times we get so caught up in the cycle of work and then we forget to take a back seat and recharge. Most times our excuse lies in the façade that we don’t have enough time to do all we have to do but that is usually a lie.

In fact, according to research, we do our best work when we are well rested because our brains can think straight and better then. So, take some break this weekend and have a good rest, a good sleep or some time at the spa.

2.     Talk With Colleagues And Family

While this may not be a conventional way to manage stress but then according to findings, we pass out some stress when we hold conversations with people around us, when we interact more with people.

This happens because most times at work, we are usually quiet and never really have time to effectively talk with those we love. Also, conversations can help us laugh more often which in itself, is a stress-relieving therapy.

3.     Spend Time Around Nature

In case you have ever wondered the purpose of recreational and natural parks, it is in a bid to ensure man maintains a constant touch with nature around him.

Spending time in water through swimming or taking a walk in the park or hiking through a forest or down the mountain helps us refresh our creativity and energy in the process.

4.     Take Periodic Walks From Your Table

Just like taking a weekend rest, standing up from your desk periodically and taking a little walk can be helpful in stretching your bones and keeping them active during the day.

Walks are also vital in easing out mental blocks which are strong propellants of mental stress. Many times, mental stress leads to physical stress and taking walks can help ease out this mental blocks.

5.     Have A Night Bath

Trust me, this is a life saver! Most times our bodies retain heat from the environment all day and can wait to ease itself of that heat. This is why most times when you get home after work the first thing you want to do is just undress.

However, take that one notch higher by getting some water on your body. Apart from this being a hygienic thing to do, it is also a therapeutic thing to do in order for your body to let go of some stress.

Many times we claim to be too tired to have a night bath but if we just look beyond the present stress and think of the benefit, we would be amazed at how far that will go for our bodies.

Some of these tips are not only helpful for that present day but can go a long way in helping us wake up even more active every morning than before.

Eddie Howe refused to blame anyone but his own players for their 5-1 hammering at Arsenal, saying "every aspect" let them down. Howe's men matched their worst away run in 85 years - nine straight league defeats - with a 5-1 thrashing at the Emirates on Wednesday night, having trailed from the fourth minute in north London. The timing of the opening goal, scored inside four minutes by Mesut Ozil, particularly irked Howe after he had called his side "exciting" pre-game, and he said: "They were too good for us, it was a difficult night. We never truly recovered from the start, and it was uncharacteristic. "I don't think we were good in any aspect of the game, with or without the ball, mentality wasn't great, it's been disappointing and we need to reflect on it honestly. " Despite their performance, Bournemouth found themselves back within a goal of their hosts at the interval after Lys Mousset's goal on the half-hour...
